Club members from Tweed and Madoc welcomed Eastern Canada & the Caribbean District Governor John Chave to our meeting on April 18. President Janice McConnell welcomed the Governor, who spoke to the following in his remarks:
• The importance of growth: in the number of Kiwanis clubs, membership, 'more hands to serve'
• His personal motto: “It’s all about the kids”
• The grassroots projects that all Kiwanis clubs undertake, serving children and their communities
• Don’t forget: Kiwanis is an international organization - think not only locally, but globally
• The importance of sharing ideas
Governor John noted that there are 26 divisions in this District, he and his partner Sue are visiting 9 this year.
PP Don DeGenova , Secretary Al McNeil, and LG Marj Buck gave Sue and Jim a tour of Tweed earlier in the week, highlighting our many community projects; the Madoc did the same in their community.
