The 50th annual Kiwanis bonspiel, which is now known as the 'Kiwanis Klinespiel', proceeded with a full house of 32 curlers on Saturday January 10. Teams played two 6-end games, enjoyed a delicious lasagna lunch between games, and participated in a 'Tooney' and Silent Auction to raise funds for Kiwanis’ ongoing programs and youth support. The winning team was skipped by Ron Potter, winning both their morning and afternoon game. The first pic shows Ron’s team being presented with the Klinespiel trophy by long-time bonspiel coordinator and past Kiwanis President Randy Kline. Presenter and team members are (from left to right) Randy Kline, Ron Potter, Janet Whitfield, Dawn and Bob Reiser. Kiwanis would like to thank the following local businesses for their generous support of the bonspiel. They include Chisholm Lumber, Maple Dale Cheese, Palmateer’s Meats, Rashotte Home Hardware Building Centre, Tom's Independent and The Tweed News. We also thank The Land O' Lakes Curling Club for the use of the facility and support of the bonspiel by their executive and members. Looking forward to 2027! #tweedkiwanis#KidsNeedKiwanis...
