Kiwanis helps kids around the world. We are a community-based organization of men and women volunteers dedicated to supporting youth in our Municipality. Since 1952, we have been part of this global organization dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time. Our Kiwanis club looks out for our community and the Kiwanis international organization takes on large-scale challenges, such as fighting disease and poverty. Our Kiwanis club is generous with its time. We are creative with our ideas. We are passionate about making a difference. And we have fun along the way!

The Kiwanis Mission & Vision
Kiwanis empowers communities to improve the world by making lasting differences in the lives of children. Kiwanis strives to be a positive influence in communities worldwide — so that one day, all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them and provide the support they need to thrive. Our local Kiwanis club fulfills the Kiwanis mission by serving our community through a number of activities – learn more about that here.
Kiwanis Service
Service is at the heart of every Kiwanis club, no matter where in the world it’s located. Members stage approximately 150,000 service projects and raise nearly US$100 million every year for communities, families and projects. By working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone.
The Objects of Kiwanis
The six
permanent Objects of Kiwanis International were approved by Kiwanis club
delegates at the 1924 Kiwanis International Convention in Denver, Colorado. Through
the decades, they have remained unchanged.
1: To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life.
2: To
encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.
3: To
promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business and professional standards.
4: To
develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive and serviceable
citizenship.
5: To
provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring
friendships, to render altruistic service and to build better
communities.
6: To
cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high
idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice,
patriotism and good will.

@timhortons Holiday Smile Cookie Week starts today and runs from Mon. Nov. 18th to Sun. the 24th. Get one (or a dozen!) at our local Tweed Tims and support our community this holiday season. This year's proceeds will go to the 'Food for All' Community Cupboard program, a committee-driven initiative aimed at providing essential support to individuals and families in need. At the heart of the project there are two community cupboards, conveniently located in the waiting room at the Gateway Community Health Centre and at the Tweed Public Library. Anyone can freely take what they need – whether it’s non-perishable food items, toiletries, or other basic necessities. The cupboard is stocked using one-time funds from local partners and generous donations from community members, ensuring that everyone has access to the resources they need without judgement. The hope is that the program fosters a sense of shared responsibility and compassion, creating a welcoming space for all to contribute and receive. In the future the Food For All Committee anticipates creating a program to support families during the summer months when school meal programs are no longer available. #SmileCookie#TweedFoodForAll#HolidaySmileCookie...
